Last October, we challenged Newberg High School Graphics Design students to develop creative ideas for art and signage for the accelerator (see this post for more info). The winning design, by NHS Geoffrey Carstensen has been fully implemented per his design. Julie Marshall, one of our board members prepped the installation by painting the wall. Then the incredible team of Phat and Kyle from Phat GFX figured out the best materials and installation techniques, printed the artwork and installed it, donating their time to do so. We thought that this project would be a cakewalk for a GFX company that wraps vehicles, but it turned out to be more complicated because of the richness of Geoff’s design. So the NHS GD Challenge #1 is complete. Challenge #2 starts with the beginning of the school year to tackle the next 6 windows (3 each/room). A bit harder because the designs on the windows have to complement these 6 icons created by Geoff. We can’t wait! And if you ever want artwork magic, contact the wizards at PhatGFX.
